Hello guys,
I live in Europe and i plan to go to US this summer and i want to buy Playstation 4 or Xbox One and i have couple questions:
1.US voltage is 110v~120v and in Europe voltage is 240v. Are these consoles capable to work on 240v with EU power cord ?
2.Is any of then region locked ? Can i use both US-purchased and EU-purchased games on the console.
3. Will i have any problems if i take it with me as carry on because i don't want to put it in my luggage ?
4. If i purchase Xbox will i be able to use it with power cord from my PC ?

Thanks in advnace

Solution
Nope they are not dual voltage each for only with their specified voltage but in the xbox one (not ps4) you can get another adapter that meets eu requirements later on that will convert the 220v into xbox power input (somewhat like a laptop charger).
1.US voltage is 110v~120v and in Europe voltage is 240v. Are these consoles capable to work on 240v with EU power cord ?
ANS: At last

2.Is any of then region locked ? Can i use both US-purchased and EU-purchased games on the console.
ANS: Region locks have been removed for people using HDMI as it is a universal standard and 8th gen consoles are not region locked.

3. Will i have any problems if i take it with me as carry on because i don't want to put it in my luggage ?
ANS: I don't know but the thing will be checked though 10 years ago my cousin brought me A NDS Lite they opened the box and inspected everything in there for security.

4. If i purchase Xbox will i be able to use it with power cord from my PC ?
Yes but the power cord comes included u don't need the power cord from the pc.

here is what the xbox one uses:

The Ps4 uses a built in psu and cannot be replaced/isnt modular u will have to replace the whole unit for it to work on the voltage you desire.

OK, Neither of the consoles have Active PFC that means they WONT work until you give them the specified voltage they were designed for. Now the solution i say get the xbox one and when you come in Europe get a psu that is meant to work with eu standards it costs like $40, on the ps4 side nothing you can do other than use a voltage regulator or a converter/adapter which is a pain in the butt.

My opinion on Xbox one and PS4:

Although i have been an old timer console gamer for this generation i switched to PC, But imo the ps4 is very overrated both the consoles have very similar Hardware (ps4 is a lil better) but idc both are pretty much same things running on Amd jaguar APUs, the xbox one stays cooler and quieter and i am gunna disagree with allot of people but the xbox one even though ugly is still better than the ps4 (Imo,) The Xbox one controller is superior to the dualshock 4. Keeping this aside talking about the games xbox one offers games i like more I <3 Halo series and want to play the Master cheif collection, Forza and kinect games which i love to play with guests

Okey, they are not region locked that great, but i don't get the part about the voltage. Are they dual voltage ?
