Any recommendations on my current selection of parts would be welcome
no AMD
and any SLI (non-overclocked) that out preforms 1080 TI would be nice

Solution
Still don't believe the 1080Ti Strix is worth 70$ over other models. Heavily overpriced.

A 750W PSU is kinda useless here: it's way more than you need but too little for a SLI-setup
I'd swap the 750W G2 for a 650W G3 which is better quality

Personally I find the 850 Pro overpriced, the Evo would do imo.

Nice build overall.
that mainboard is most certainly way more than you need.
a nice ASUS Strix or Gigabyte Gaming 5, 6 or 7 would do with ease and save some cost
same goes for the 1080Ti, usually a Gigabyte Aorus or MSI card is up to 70 bucks cheaper while offering the same performance.

as for coolers, Noctua ND-15 is tough to beat, so is the Phanteks TC14PE (didn't include the Cryorig R1 in the list as it's performance is not quite on par with the 2 listed and I think it's overpriced)
if it doesn't get really hot at your place or you're not looking to break the 5 GHz barrier, a Scythe Mugen Max or a Thermalright Archon would be nice choices

your RAM is low profile and works with almost any cooler.

If the ram has that cooler (shown in the link) bundled make sure to not use it , or you can forget all (95%) air coolers , cause there will be interference . As for the recommended cooler ... i don't have one but if it has from 4 to 6 heatpipes , and cost between 40$-80$ , you're good to go.

wouldn't ASUS ROG STRIX B250F limit my DDR4 down to 2400/2133 would it be beneficial to increase to 64mb (4x16)
and the i7-7700 is 3.6 GHz while the i7-7700k is 4.2 GHz

It's easyer if i make a config , and then you decide ....
Case is personal so it's ok .
Gpu is the best so it can remain .
CPU again is the best of consumer/gamer cpu's so it remains .

Mobo https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132936 It is z270 , but the cpu deservs it

CPU cooler : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608045 - this is pretty much the best air cooler , beats some watercoolers even .

64GB RAM aren't needed unless you do professional video editing.
RAM speed is pretty much irrelevant with Intel CPUs, however you see some benefits with de/encoding.
in gaming, the difference between the 7700 & 7700k is minor tbf.

why would a i7-7700 deserve a low-end Z270 board?
rather have a nice B250 then. also the CPU doesn't really care.
for a 7700, you don't need a 90$ cooler. a 25$ cooler is more than adequat. for the 7700k it's of course good, although I still prefer the Phanteks.

why a 750W PSU? and why the RMi? Only real benefit over the RMx is the Corsair Link feature, which is utterly useless if you ask me.

Well i tought it was obvius . He will opt for the 7700K . the mobo is enough , the cooler is a bit overkill but intel 7000 series are notorius for going up to 90°C , so i tought what the heck . The power supply is a tad much , but it seemed to me money was not an issue .
My first suggestion was a b250 + 7700 , but it seemed he wanted the 7700K .

ok , that leaves 2300$ :

Pretty much my recommendations for the budget.

The Maximus IX Hero was my first pick but the specs said:
"These SATA ports are for data hard drives only. ATAPI devices are not supported." so i didn't know how to add a dvd drive

Never tryed EVGA equipment but i could give it a shot

Power supply just covers the rig, if i ever SLI i would need it replaced

there are external dvd drives .... , but i don't know about the internal one , this is the first time i see such a ting as not.
Evga is pretty badass , i have a supernova g2 powersupply , and i wish i could afford an evga 1080ti .
I did not plan on sli , obviously you will need some more powerful psu , but not more than 1000W.

SLI is generally not worth it. you usually get a better performance by buying a newer gen card.
I'd suggest something like that:
