Question Need help with cpu throttling

let me start this off with saying thank you to anyone who helps me out in advance. so i just got a AMD FX-8350 which i paired with a gtx 1060 and i eventually realized that my CPU core clock was going from 4Ghz to 1.36Ghz randomly and this would result in a huge fps drop then it would eventually go back to around 220 fps and then go down again ive already tryed changing the power saving settings in windows 10 also, i dont know if it is thermal throttling because my motherboard heat sensor is broken so it always shows my Cpu temp at a minimum of 120 degrees other than that i'm lost

Try going into bios and change the core speed to 4ghz?

that didnt work but i did turn off amd cool n quiet and that seems to have improved performance for some reason but it still drops down to 1.36Ghz while playing csgo

I have a similar problem with a FX 8320. It is thermal throttling at around 62 degrees. If i find a solution i will tell you.

Try a BIOS update.
It might have to do with a bottleneck...
