Hi everyone,
Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
For the past week or two I've been getting heaps of error id 55 in my event viewer. the message reads "The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume \Device\NgVolumeSnapshot1."
I can't run chkdsk though because don't know where or how to find the volume "\Device\NgVolumeSnapshot1.""
I use Windows 7 Backup & Restore occasionally to backup my pc onto drive E/: (my spare hdd) and I am thinking maybe it might have something to do with the "WindowsImageBackup" on this drive.
A few times chkdsk has attempted to run on boot-up but says the corrupt drive is not accessible [or words to that effect]. Can someone help me sort out this worrying error please?
Normally my pc boots up ok but occasionally it will crash just after log in. I can still hear the pc running when the crash occurs and I don't get a BSOD. My monitor just goes completely black and there is no reaction from the pc at all. After switching off and rebooting I can use the pc all day with no further trouble. This has be happening for quite some tie so I think it is a seperate problem, not related to event 55.
Thanks.
