So yesterday I received my bundle of : Intel core I5 6600k @ 4.3 Ghz, gigabyte z170 and 8GB DDR4 Ram.
I took out my old parts from PC I made sure my anti static wrist band was connected to the case of the PC.
I have installed the bundle and done a fresh reinstall of windows.
The computer works with with the integrated Intel graphics'' HD 530''

I have attached my xfx r9 390x to the PCI-E x 16 slot. I also connected the 6 and 8 pin to the card. I turned on the pc the hdmi cable was plugged to the r9 390x. The fans and the light where on but the screen was black on the boot up. So I took out the hdmi cable and I plugged it in to the integrated card ..got nothing just a black screen. When i took out the r9 390x and the hdmi cable was inserted to the integrated card everything works fine.

I am worried the card is damaged or maybe I am doing something wrong. Can someone help me step by step ?

Solution
Hi guys I fixed the problem. It was the integrated graphic card blocking my r9 390x on the start up. I disabled it in both BIOS and Device manager then reinstalled my card and everything works fine. Thank you all for your fast reply! I appreciate the help
it should work as a plug n play.
so you're absolutely sure the card is sitting in properly? you should feel or hear a good 'clump' sound. and when u take it out.. u press that lever and it pops out right?
do u use 2 monitors? if so try plugging everything in as if you didnt do anything. it should turn on. gpu is the quickest and easiest to do.. easier than ram tbh. i hate ram

Yes everything is connected properly. The weird issue is when the HDMI cable is connected to the r9 390x the fans and the light on the card are working properly. But the screen is black. So I thought I will just unplug the cable plug it into the integrated card I should be able to go into BIOS and maybe change the graphic settings but I cant since the screen is black. The only time the integrated card works is when the r9 390x is disconnected or I take out the PCIE power connectors. When the PCIE connectors are not connected to the card but the card is still in the PCIE x 16 port the integrated card works fine. I will try to rebuild my old system and test the r9 just to see if its not damaged but before i do that if someone has a solution i would appreciate it

what power supply u have?
and did u leave it in black screen for a few minutes and no post?
not even a squiggle?

so when u say the fans work.. did they twitch when u power up? or is it spinning? during black screen

The power supply is crosair 650W. It should be enough power for the system to work. So basically the system works when the r9 390x is not in the pcie x16 slot or if the r9 390x is in the pcie slot but the PSU pins are not connected.
But if the card is fully connected both the integrated card does not work or the r9 390x

My specs are :gigabyte z170, xfx r9 390x, 2x 4gb ddr4 ram, intel core i5 6600k @4.3 ghz, the psu is 650W it worked fine on my old system not sure why the the graphic card is not working. I think it might be due to the intergrated intel card , if someone can help me i would appriciate it

You are definitely using PCI-E power connectors (6+2) and not 8pin EPS connectors. (4+4)

Yes you are right. So what do you think the problem is? On my old mobo the graphic card worked fine but there was no integrated graphic card. On my new mobo i got intel hd and that works fine on its own. When the r9 is inserted and the power connectors are attached there is a black screen on boot up on both intergratred and r9. If i take the r9 out everything works fine i am sure the card is working properly i just messed something up

Remove every power plug from HDD and DVD, if you have 2 sticks of ram, remove one, then try again. I had a sub par PSU that barely handled my setup, you might be in the PSU's threshold,
