Hey guys!

How are we all?? : )

So I’m looking to build a high end PC, around $4000 AUS. I don’t need any fancy lights and I want parts that are stock, or preferably stock over clocked, as I would blow something up and then cry : )

I’m set on coffee lake, i7 8700 or 8700k and gtx 1080 ti. I’ll be playing games on 1440p @144hz on max graphics, and I like to use multiple programs at once, so from my reading, I need this build to run it consistently : )

I’ve read the 8700k has overheating problems and is noisy without much performance over the 8700?

I’m at a loss with the amount of ti cards there are out there!!! I mainly want one with best stock or stocked OC performance.

I’m also at a loss with the different mother boards out there! And seems like there’s some decent competition as well! I’m only looking to have 1 ti card, at the moment 1x nvme ssd for the OS (Samsung 950), and another fast drive for games (PCI SSD??) (Samsung 850?) – I want fast load times : ) Maybe one with a good on board sound card (Although that’s a minimal want).

I just picked out random case, fans and PSU, although I did some numbers and having a good quality 600W (Gold or above) should be more than fine (can you recommend any particular ones for both?).

So again, not after any fancy lights and I don’t need any peripherals.

This link is one for a local PC store near me that I punched in some random parts.

Solution
here is a list of parts for such system with decent quality
there is no point in two smaller SSDs, you get much more with single larger SSD.
I have not selected a CPU cooler, but any of high end Noctua, Be Quiet, Cryorig coolers will be more than enough.

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($549.00 @ Umart)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG Strix Z370-H Gaming ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($279.00 @ Centre Com)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($196.90 @ Newegg Australia)
Storage: Samsung - 960 EVO 1TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($587.00 @ Shopping Express)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB SC2 Video Card ($1059.30 @...

no i have not. it's mentioned in my post.
as for your suggestion, there is no AiO that cools better at lower noise than good air cooler.
