Need help with mic not picking up voice.

Hey, my mic was working, however recently it just doesn't work anymore. I put playback on and all it picks up is when I thump the mic? Anyone got any ideas on a fix?

try wiggling the mic cable. if it crackles or picks up any sound, then maybe it's time to buy a new mic.

It works on my phone and other computer tho, just my PC it isn't picking up my voice

try uninstalling/removing the mic/audio driver and install again.
go to device manager and uninstall the driver,

usually for realtek it's easier, you just go to control panel and click "Programs and Features" and uninstall from there.

Ok thanks, done all that. I downloaded the driver and it just takes me to a winrar file that I'm unsure about how to actually install the driver

Ok, went back to a restore point and tried that, said I already had the up to date driver installed, mic still doesn't work tho

don't go back to restore point... that means you are installing the old driver back

nvm, just download this driver:

it's easier

I did that, now the audio manager page doesn't appear when i plug the headset in, and the mic still doesn't work

well you could always rollback to previous driver through restore point.
but usually driver update or reinstall would fix any audio related problems... i'm sorry, i'm at loss too unfortunately.

Got the mic to work on the new driver, but i've lost the audio manager, any idea how to get it back? Normally appears when I plug the device in

launch the RtkNGUI64.exe manually in C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\AP
