Need help with my laptop!!!

When I was browsing YouTube, a full blue screen came up across my laptops screen. I wasn't able to close it because I couldn't open any apps. The blue screen had white lines on it and 6 sad faces. Once I gave up on it, I took out the battery to force shut down. I've just booted it up again and I'm about to see what is happening. If further detail is needed, I will oblige. Thanks in advance.
P.S. This may be the "Blue Screen Of Death" but I've looked it up and it doesn't look anything like that.

Blue Screen of death has no white lines and no sad faces.

But it is blue.

I saw something on the internet. It doesn't say anything about lines but it does have a sad face. It says its on Windows 8. Perhaps thats the problem?
