I want to build a new computer for highschool, that I won't have to upgrade until college. I held a summer job and was able to get around $2000 to spend on my new computer. After a couple of hours, I came up with this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KZyWqs

Do you see any problems? What should I add? What should I remove? Thanks!! :)

Solution
A new Intel Skylake build is easy at your budget. A single GTX 980 ti may be a better option than hot running power hungry AMD cards. Motherboard and power supply are SLI ready if you want to add another video card later on. Also a newer larger SSD by Samsung. Threw in an optical drive too. Plenty of budget left if you want more ram but 8GB should be plenty for gaming build.

Solution
I like archaics build a lot more

lol and I was going to say swap out the r4 for an r5 but he already did!

and Id say grab 16gb of ram instead of 8, just for extra "future proofing" . probably completely unnecessary atm, but wouldn't hurt at all

So will this last me all 4 years? Beyond? (Without upgrading?) Whats the skylake cpu? Also, thank you for your response! 😀

Skylake is the newest CPU by Intel. It's as future proof as you can get if there is such a thing. It uses faster DDR4 ram. The build I made will easily last you for several years. The GTX 980 ti is one of the best performing video cards available. A few years from now you could add another for SLI but unless you move up to a 4K monitor you won't need to.

Did you edit my build or did you make a whole new build? And I hate to be that guy, but how well would this aesthetically?

What's the advantage of using your build instead of mine? (Just for educational purposes)

This is one of my own builds with a few adjustments for your needs. All the parts are black with some red except the CPU cooler. Noctua makes the best coolers available. Pretty much everything in your build is now a generation older technology. All the parts I used are the latest and best quality I could find.

Are the wires on the psu sleeved? Does the Define R5 get enough airflow to cool the cpu/gpu? Would you recommend saving up more money right now to get 2 gpu's? How big will the preformance increase be? Would it be necessary to overclock the cpu? Does the mobo support overclocking?

- Yes the PSU wires are all sleeved. The EVGA G2 series is one of the best in the world made by Super Flower.
- Define R5 has great airflow and cooling ability. The R5 can use radiators up to 420mm in the top, 360mm in the front, as well as radiators up to 240mm and 140mm in the bottom and rear. It has a total of 9 fan slots and sound proofing material covering the panels.
-The GTX 980 ti is more than you need for 1080P. It can support 1080p at 144hz. and 1440 monitors easily with high fps. If you want a 4K monitor you could add another. the motherboard and PSU are already set up to use a second GPU.
-It's very unlikely you'd need to OC the CPU but the motherboard, CPU and CPU cooler will support it.
