So i bought a fan hub for my fans.

i have 5 140mm fans and a 120mm cpu fan

3 are 3 pin voltage controled and 2 are pwm.

but i can't seem to get them working properly with the phanteks hub

the pwm ones are fine but the voltage ones want to run at full speed.

motherboard is asus z170 pro gaming

jpe1701 is right. The Phanteks PWM Hub MUST have a PWM signal from a mobo header to work. So you must set the header you plug that Hub into to use PWM Mode. The Hub then uses that signal internally to create its own group of six 3-pin ports operating in Voltage Control Mode, which is ideal for 3-pin fans. (actually, it also works for 4-pin fans, although not exactly ideal.)

Here's a hint. the Phanteks Hub instructions advise you to plug it into the CPU_FAN header, and then connect your actual CPU cooler system to its white Port #1. That advice is only to help you avoid a problem if you are trying to use a mobo 4-pin fan header that does not actually use PWM Mode, and there are many of those. But if you are sure you can set a mobo...
I'm not sure how the Phanteks hub works but my understanding is that it will control 3 pin fans because I was looking into buying one for my case. Is it possible that by mixing pwm and dc fans it's confusing the header it's connected to? Are the fans visible in the bios?

Yeah but i didn't connect the 2 pwm to it, i connected those directly to my motherboard since it has 4 pin connectors.

But if you are sure you can set a mobo CHA_FAN header to PWM Mode, you can do that and connect the Hub there. Then you plug your CPU cooler into the CPU_FAN header. If you do this, make sure that some fan is plugged into the Hub's Port #1 (it can be any fan) so that it gets a speed signal to send back to the mobo header. Otherwise the mobo may issue warnings of fan failure if it gets no fan signal.
