Ive been trying to forward ports but not matter what guide ive followed it just doesnt work. Ive tried the usual port forwarding through my router and also inbound/outbound firewall rules. None of that has ever worked. The only way that i have managed to open a port is by setting it as the connection port in utorrent. That works but only for 1 port and only for the pc utorrent is running on. I dont think im blocked by my ISP since there are guides on the ISP's page for other routers they offer.

Not sure on this router but in others you want to leave the wan ip as all 0.0.0.0. What I have seen in other routers is this ip is used to filter certain server/sites on the internet. It is the ip of the machine on the internet that is attempting the connection. Not sure I never could see why you would do that. Not sure it may not work that way on this router.

This field even existing is very strange since it has almost no use even if it does not work the way I think.

You must have a application running on the port you have forwarded or it will be marked as closed. You might be able to put in range of ports but most routers have a DMZ option that does a similar function and is easier to configure.

A DMZ should forward all ports to the internal machine. Tends to be easier when you don't know the ports being used.

So if i turn on DMZ and point it to my file server anyone in the world with my ip will have access to it, right?

I tried it and it doesnt work, i started my mc server and port 25565 was still closed
The ZTE is a bit like an enterprise router where you have to define the application for a port forward, so try this guide:

Even this guide is a bit confusing as in the two example port forwards, one has the wan IP address and one has the LAN ip address.

I randomly figured it out myself: All i needed to do is change HSla to HSlv, and it works both for port forward and DMZ
