Hi guys, i am new in overclock, post some thread asking for help yesterday, thanks to some kind ppl,

i managed to overclock my q6600 from 2.4 to 3.0ghz Stabley , Ran prime 95 overnight with no errors at all

I am also using Asus Silent Knight as a HS stock cooler

my chassic im using is Asus vento Ta-m1

Heres a funny problem

My Normal Temp , without doing anything is 45 - 49 but wont go 50 or above (questiom: issit ok?)

While running Prime95, Temp went up to 59 constant, sometimes 60 or 61 but not more, overnight and still constant (question : issit normal?)

While Playing game eg Farcry2, Temp would go up to 55-59 , Constant, wont hit 60 and above ( ques: Is it normal and ok ? )

but heres the funny thing, Without doing anything with temp 47, I on my airconditioner in my room on 26 degree and my Core temp went all the way down to 39. Issit something wierd or isit it normal and got smt to do with my aircon?

need poinion

Sounds like your temps are fine.

If your air temps go up 1C, your idle temps will go up 1C. If you cooled the room and your idle temps went lower (load temps should also drop) thats perfectly normal.

ohh..cause if u take a look(google image) at my chassic, theres a big square ventilation on the side which allows u to look inside. So it also depends on my room tempreature? cause my room is small :).

so how about gaming? my some other question. u hadnt answer it.

But for now..ill stick with 3.0ghz for the time being with asus silent knight. maybe in a few month time, ill get a new mobo and more RAMs and a better cooler so i can go for 3.6 😛

Its all about the sir flow that you get through your case. Take the side off, turn it on and put your hand in, see if you can feel the amount of cool air coming through.

I always thought side fans weren't that great because they disrupt this air flow. Basically, the air is sucked in through the front, over the heatsink, and pulled out the back. But a side fan cuts this flow in half.

Your temps seem fine, including for gaming.

Temps are higher than I'd like mine to be, but they are perfectly fine.

Intel states that temps should be below 70C on the Q6600, which you are under full load.

With an aftermarket cooler and case with good air flow my 3.2Ghz Q6600 has temps that are low 30s w/out load and
