i recently upgraded to 2 16gb corsair ddr4 3600MHz ram, running an Asus Prime z390-p Motherboard, made sure on pcpartpicker that the ram was compatible, installed in slots A2 and B2, no issues until yesterday, son was playing rob lox while i was at work, said computer froze, he turned it off, turned it back on and no display, same issue for me, on stick will work in slot A1, tried both stick in A1, boots normally, boots normally in A2, but in slots B1 and B2 will not boot and RAM led light comes on, anyone have any ideas on what happened since it was working just fine before? thanks in advance!

Your motherboard manual, page 1-7 instructs you to mount your two ram sticks in slots A2 and B2.
Usually, it does not make a difference, but that is where to start.
If you test just one stick, mount in A2.
There may be a motherboard bios update that addresses ram compatibility.
Do not flash the bios on just speculation. A failed flash digs the hole deeper.
Are the two 16gb sticks from the same matched kit?
Ram must be matched for proper operation.

Test ram using memtest.
Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

i don't believe it to be a ram issue, i was running the sticks in slots A2 and B2, i bought them as a pair so they are from the same manufacturer, my son said the pc froze and when i turned it on when i got home i had no display, i tried both sticks by themselves in slot A2, booted just fine, tried on stick in A1, booted just fine, when i put the same stick in slots B2 and B1, the ram led light came on, and i didnt get any display

To confirm, the ram is a 2 stick matched kit in one package?
Two identical part numbers does not constitute a match. When you get a ram light, it says that the motherboard stopped the boot process with ram.
If each individual ram stick tests out ok, running memtest, then you may have a bent pin in the cpu socket.
Ram issues are a common symptom of such damage.

i don't believe it to be a ram issue....
What you believe is completely irrelevant. Only what you have actually tested and have proof for is relevant.

....i bought them as a pair so they are from the same manufacturer....
Unless they were packaged together at the factory, in the SAME blister pack, they are NOT a matched pair. They are sold in factory matched sets for a reason.
