I need some help picking out RAM for my PC. I want to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb. The MB i have is the ASUS X570-plus (wifi), and the CPU is the Ryzen 7 3700x. I have a 1080p GPU at the moment, but just ordered the 4070 GPU.

Help! Please

Are you looking to ADD memory, which is often a crapshoot even if you choose an identical model kit especially on Ryzen and even more so on Ryzen if that means you need to run four DIMMs, or are you wanting to go with an entirely new kit?

If you are looking for an entirely new kit then this would be one of the best options that isn't terribly expensive, that I know is fully compatible with your motherboard. It's also a high quality memory kit.

PCPartPicker Part List

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $64.99

If you are willing to spend a little more for an even higher quality kit, this G.Skill Trident Z kit is also fully compatible with your board and CPU combination.

I am looking to go with a new kit. I know enough to know that it isn't a good idea to add more.

I am willing to spend up to 100 for the RAM if.need be.

Will look at the 2 you suggested.

Than you! Much appreciated!

For sure, and honestly those are probably the best kits you're going to find in the budget range while still being high quality kits. Now, if you're willing to spend up to 100 bucks you can look at a kit with a lower true latency which will definitely add a little extra snappiness to the memory performance.

Either of these two kits is a good choice and drops the CL latency down from 18 to 16 which essentially has the same effect as running memory that's a few hundred MT/s faster. And actually, 4000MT/s CL18 memory has a true latency of about 9ns while 3600MT/s CL16 memory sits at about 8.33ns, so it's actually faster. Not a bad jump for the same or not much more money. I'd probably say the CL16 Ripjaws kit below is the best option for the combination of speed, quality and price of all these.

It days disabled and when I try to set it to profile 1 or 2, it says that performance is usually best when memory clock FLCK is 1.1 synch and that maximum flck stability is around 1800mhz and that over volting SOC may cause instability on Gen 4.0 devices.

Off topic: what programs can I use to text new RAM and new GPU?

Anybody making any changes in the BIOS that matter at all, really should have advanced mode enabled. In fact, in my opinion, if you're going to do ANYTHING in the BIOS beyond simply checking what BIOS version is installed, you should be in advanced mode. I can see no reason to ever not be in advanced mode other than for people who are just very seriously "challenged" and you do not seem to be one of those people. So yes, I would recommend that you change to advanced mode and then enable XMP/D.O.C.P.
