Hello guys,
I had a really old Asus P5KPL-SE motherboard earlier and for my speakers, I use 2 Sony speakers of 120W each, connected to a receiver and a graphic sound equalizer. It was all working good and smooth until I upgraded my PC configuration.
I've recently got a new motherboard, the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P. Now, I have problems with the sound on it. I connect the receiver and turn it on, but when I put some music on, there is no sound.
I have installed the sound drivers and got a VIA HD VDeck (control panel for the sound and stuff). I guess I am a damn noob when I can't set it on there, but whatever I do, nothing worked.

Here are some pics of the jack and receiver:

I have these 2 connectors both on my MBO and receiver. So, should I get that cable and try connecting it or what to do... ?!

Thanks for your time reading this and I would appreciate any kind of help.

hi,
yes, you can connect the soundcard's optical out with the optical in of your receiver.
Make sure you set your soundcard to speakers instead of digital on via control panel when you connect the 2 (the old fashioned) way.
The green connector is default stereo sound.
