i know i should do the upgrade directly instead of using the ISO but that is not an option. I have windows 8.1 64 bit Single Language activated and used the media creation tool to create an ISO to do the upgrade. No matter how many times i try to run setup.exe, i am always being asked for a product key. I can't find anyway around this. Is there anything you guys can suggest?

Starting with the November update, Windows 10 (Version 1511) can be activated using some Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 product keys.

What else have you got other than doing the in-place upgrade?

And, yes, this does work. I upgraded my hardware a month ago and had to reinstall Windows and this worked perfectly. I originally did an in-place upgrade from Windows 7 Professional OEM.

You're doing this from inside the current OS? Or are you booting directly from the USB?

I'll give this a try
