I've currently got a TP-Link wireless adapter in my pci-e 2.0 x1 slot and a gtx750Ti in the pci-e 3.0 x16 slot. I've checked in gpu-z and its running at the correct 3.0 x16 speeds, however; i'm soon going to be putting a gtx970 in there and moving the gtx750ti down a slot into the pci-e 2.0 x16 slot as a dedicated PPU. I've found this info on my mobo..

"1 x CPU ¦ 4 x DIMM 240-pin ¦ 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 ( x16 mode (x4 mode if PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot is occupied) ) ¦ 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 ( x16 mode (x4 mode if PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot is occupied) ) ¦ 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 ¦ 2 x PCI."

I understand this mobo supports crossfire and not sli, but if i use the pci-e 2.0 x16 for my gtx750 ti as a PPU what speeds will i be getting ??? X16 still or X4? I'm assuming they mean a crossfire setup xD. If you can help, Thankyou.

@RFCProd Your right I dont necessarily need a dediacted PPU, my z97 board only has crossfire compatability but im upgrading to a nvidia 970 in a couple weeks ? seemed pointless to have an empty slot when i can cram a 750ti in there for PhyX with no ill effects. im only gna be playing @ 1080p so the card will prob only be used for benchmark results.

The 750 Ti as a PPU will have very little use. Better off selling the graphics card while you save for another GTX 970.
