Question Need help!

So i just bought a prebuilt gaming pc asus prime b450m-a and it was stated that it was able to support m.2 nvme ssd, i went on amazon and bought the samsung 970 1tb, when it arrived i unplugged power cable and discharged with power button, removed gpu and inserted m.2 ssd, reinstalled gpu and 8 pin, reattacted power cord to back of pc, when i turned on my pc if powered for .5 seconds and then immediately turned off, when i went to turn on again it would not power up at all, im at a loss, i have tried to test ram, remove gpu, i have solid orange lights on motherboard but nothing with work, is my motherboard fried?

What happens when you remove M.2 drive ?
 
Turns out after i have tested everything, it was the power supply,thermaltake smart 650w read a buch of reviews and most were negative, went with a corsair 750w rgb 80+ gold paperclip test no power
