Need Info Repairing DELL U2412M Digital Monitor

This morning I saw a tiny bug crawling across my screen. I grabbed a tissue and killed it. However, when I tried to wipe up the mess I discovered the insect was behind the front of the screen. Now there is a tiny splotch there that I cannot clean off.
My question is, is it possible for me to get that front layer off safely, clean it, and put it back on without damaging my monitor?

By me killing it while it was crawling around back there. Thought that part was pretty clear. Still would like to know how to get to it to clean it though.
