Hi everybody,

I am putting together a new system which I want to use for general stuff as well as PC gaming. Not very hardcore stuff, but say Diablo III etc.

Intel Corei5 3450
Intel Mother Board DB75EN
8GB RAM DDR3
2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
Corsair VX450 Smps
Dell 24" Full HD Screen

Is this system ok? Am I making a big mistake? What is the weak link in this?

Thanks for your help,

Vikrant

It would be easier if you gave us budget and link to the shop you are going to buy the parts from.

First, I don't recommend any Intel board. If you are on budget or don't need extensive connectivity options go with B75 board such as Asrock B75M or B75-Pro3.
Second, GT630 is terrible. Get at least something like GTX560, 650Ti, AMD 7770 or better.
It really is difficult to recommend anything not knowing how much you have to spend.
Hmm, I don't know about that motherboard. I'd get a different one if I could, preferably an h77 one.
I'd also up the graphics card, but I don't know if that's an option - it looks like this is something you're customizing through dell/alienware?

Just know they're going to overcharge you by $500-$1000, and that building the computer yourself is no harder than LEGOs.

very basic gfx card thats fine for video but useless for gaming. today you want a minimum of a gtx650/560/460 or the equivalent amd.
glad to see you picked a decent cpu even if it cant be overclocked it will play games well... but yeah you really want to spend a little more on the gfx...
