Hi all,

I'm building a budget/midrange gaming computer and I need suggestions for a motherboard. I'm going Intel instead of AMD and here's the component choices so far:

-Intel Pentium 4/ 2.8C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, HyperThreading Technology

-ATI RADEON 9600XT Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, 8X AGP

-Two Crucial 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 (or whatever fits mobo)

-Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive,WD1200JB

-Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 PCI Sound Card

-Windows XP Pro

There will be a CD-RW burner installed, (DVD-RW later), floppy, DVD-ROM, etc. But I can't decide on a mobo.

Stability is important, as well as dual channel DDR, onboard LAN, 8X AGP. Cost up to $130 or so.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,
Gina

Read my sig and go there. IS7 just keeps getting better. If you buy the Crucial get 512mb sticks or get the new Ballistix. The 9600XT is a good card, but if you can pony up get the 9800Pro. If you want Mushkin, PM me! I have some extra pC4000. [smile}

Abit IS7 - 2.8C @ 3.4 - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - THAT'S MORE LIKE IT, MSI!

Get the IS7, or if you think you can use gigalan get the IS7-G. Dont get the IS7-E (econocrap) IS7-E2 (twice as crappy) or the IS7-M (micro-major crap) The IS7 is a great board at a great price.
