Need LGA 1155 Mini-XT Motherboard with at least 5 SATA ports!

Hey everyone,

So I have been searching for hours with no luck. I am upgrading my CPU to a i7-3770K to turn my HTPC into a decent gaming rig. However, I cannot find a mini itx mobo with at least 5 SATA ports. I have an SDD for the OS, 3 4TB HDDs, and a bluray drive. My previous mobo was a ASRock FM2A85X-ITX FM2 socket with 8 SATA3 ports. I am at a loss and could use your help. Thanks!

You'd have to select an alternate SSD, however, the ASRock Z77E-ITX has four SATA ports on the board, plus a mSATA slot on its underside that will take a mSATA SSD. It does not come with the hold-down screw (and neither did my SSD; I used an old HSF screw from a graphics card). Make sure that whatever you get is insulated from the case.

Could I use a mSATA to SATA adapter so I wouldn't have to replace my SSD?

I doubt it, because it mounts under the mobo. I wouldn't think there is room there for the thickness of a regular SSD plus whatever board is used to mount it. It might work if it attaches to a SATA cable, and not directly to the drive.
