[SOLVED] Need little help about ata-100 to usb

Hello, trying to help my friend but do be sure I want ask here also if I get this right.

Baisically my friend have his old laptop HDD (laptop not working) and he need the files. So I was looking that there is possible to transfer files with usb and HDD connector to another laptop.
He have pretty old HDD so its bit confusing.

As I can understand this is HM100JC and there is some link about that I guess: https://www.hdsentinel.com/storageinfo_details.php?lang=en&model=SAMSUNG HM100JC (i think its same)
and as I can read its supports: Ultra-ATA/100 (am i correct?)

That is adapter fot 3.5" PATA drives.

Its same as I can understand but now I also need cables to connect this with another laptop right? If I can understand this adepter what you give me support 2,5 so I need 2,5 adapter also?

Nope. Wrong adapter. It is meant for connecting sata drives to system supporting pata 2.5".
You need to connect pata 2.5" drive.

But can I understand it correctly now.

I connect old HDD with this adapter what link you gived me and that i connect the adapter with SATA to USB connector and I put the USB in my laptop and I can see the old HDD files right?

and there is like 24 pins but the adapter have 20 up and 20 down right? Are u sure its connects? Or i readed wrong

44 pins smaller size is 2.5" pata adapter,
40 pins larger size is 3.5 pata adapter.
