Need my Windows 8's product key..

I installed Windows 8.1 from a random CD that I got from a friend , its not an original CD nor did it come with a CD key. I could install it with no problem at all, but it still needs to be activated..
Anyone got any idea how I could find the product key of the windows 8 Im using without actually having to pay for it ??

If you're looking to install using a current Product Key that you bought already we'll help you find it, but if, as I suspect, you simply want Win8 for free that's Piracy and not allowed on Tom's...

Yup. Discs are not tied to a key; you can use any Win8 disc with any Win8 key.

You'll need to buy a key from MS.

Can you not share Windows 8 CD with 2 computers?
Story goes like this, My friend has the original of the Windows that Im using, he bought it some time ago and he created this copy of the original (that Im using..)
Does that happen to be piracy?
We just dont have the original or its case with us ri8 now( got mixed up somewhere ), so no key ....

You are only entitled to use one product key per PC. Sure, you can install on 2 PCs but per the licencing you can only activate on one. To activate the 2nd you require another key. Acquiring another key without paying for it is classified as piracy.

You don't need a product key to install Windows 8.1 over a Windows 8 installation (if that's what you are doing - your post is not exactly clear). You don't even need a disk.

But, no - you can't share one Windows 8 CD key between two computers. You can install it on only one.

This is an obvious case of (failed) attempted piracy.

You haven't paid for a first, let alone another. Your friend has, and he has used it.

Luckily Microsoft take very sophisticated measures to prevent piracy nowadays, and you seem to be unable to circumvent them. And, as you are openly advocating piracy, which is against forum rules, I'm guessing we won't be hearing much more from you.

You pay for the license key, MS just throws in the disk for next to nothing. They let you download new ones if you want + have a key.
