I have the windows Me upgrade CD.
I do not have a "full version".
I know you can put a file on an empty harddrive and then fool the upgrade to install itself.
Can someone tell me how to do this?
My other option is to go out on the web and buy a win 98se full version.
But I want to spend less than 100 bucks.
Does anybody know where I can get one by chance?
I'm running Linux now but the wife and kids want their windows back.
Please help!

If you have a copy of a previous version of Windows, just run setup of Windows ME upgrade. At some point, it should ask you for the proof of ownership of a previous version of Windows, at which point you will insert a previous version of Windows CD into the CDROM. Installation should continue like a breeze.
