I'm growing tired of my current chiclet style keyboard and want something with a more premium feel for my fingers. I've never owned anything in my life other than keyboards with membrane switches so I am noobish when it comes to this area.

At CES 2014 CoolerMaster announced they are releasing an electrostatic capacitive keyboard that goes by the name NovaTouch. They claim that it will have a superior feel to the mechanical keyboards with the cherry mx switches. I need advice on what to get for the best feeling keyboard and there is no budget so fire away with what switch type tickles your fancy, it will benefit me loads. Thanks

If price isnt an issue, then go with a high-end razer keyboard (deathstalker ultimate is pretty good). Razer makes the best mice/keyboards and ok headphones, but their keyboards have lots of functions. Deathstalker ultimate is $250 and comes with reprogrammable keys (including the led display for each individual key that can be reprogrammed). It is membrane instead of cherry mx, but is the highest-end keyboard out there. In the end it really depends on what your budget is.

Well I'm not necessarily looking for functionality as I'm just looking for quality of the switches. I am not a serious gamer by any means or a coder, I just need something that will get me through heavy typing. Programmable keys and other features of that sort will not benefit me. Any other thoughts?

Well I am not in the market for those exotic looking ergonomic keyboards, but my main concern is which switch type is king for buttery typing. Cherry MX or electrostatic capacitive (topre).
