I want a good gaming platform
A motherboard with good souncard included and DDR3
And a Good fast processor for around $300
I choose a 4850 X2 Ati as a graphics card
now did you want all that for 300 bucks, or just the mobo? Because all of that for 300 just isn't possible. The closet i could get was 338$ using 2 gigs of ddr3 1333mhz, a phenom 2 x4 810@ 2.6 and a ECS black series AM3 mobo. if You do want a solid gaming system, might i suggest something like this...?
First off, the Core2quads still kick the crap out of phenom 2. Upgrade
Mobo, decent sound, but if you want high end sound, you would be better off just buying a dedicated sound card.
4 gigs of ddr2 is still superior to 2 gigs of faster ddr3. There just isn't a big enough payoff for the price yet. Upgrade.
however, if I took this all wrong, go with nerrawg. His mobo choices are definitely good ones and worthy of being considered.
I want to spend $300 in the processor alone, get a good Motherboard with overclocking capability and a good integrated soundcard (good enough for gaming) and DDR3 preference i7 Intel CPU
The 4890/ GTX 275 are new cards...that is why they have not been included in the benchmarks...But they have tested it... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-4890,2262.html

And for that resolution, even these cards are overkill...but as the games become more graphics intensive, these should do a good job handling those as well at that resolution...
The GTX 275/ HD 4890 can handle resolutions upto 1900X1200 with ease at high settings in most of the current games...
For those games mate I would look at a GTS 250 1 GB or a GTX 260 - the GTX 275 will be a waste of money - even when Storm of War: Battle of Britain comes out. Better off getting these cheaper cards and then when DX11 and the new flight simulator comes out buy the new DX11 cards so you can play the latest. Because of DX11 the 275 and the 4890 will be obsolete with regards to fight simulator XI, if you play mainly flight sims then this is the best advice I can give. I play Il-2 1946 myself, as well as lock on and F4 AF and these games do not need anyway near the performance of that 275. FSX is the most demanding of the games you mentioned, and it is a bit weird compared to most games. It absolutely loves CPU power, so the core i7 is an excellent choice. XthekidX and I have advised people on FSX builds before: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/262847-31-need-choosing-motherboard
