Hi :)
So I'm upgrading all my old parts with new ones. How ever I do not have the money to do it all in one go. So I just bought a new Motherboard (Asus Maximus Vi Hero) and a new CPU (Intel i5 4670k). But my question is can I plug these new parts into my old machine?

These are the parts it would go along with:
NVidia GeForce GTX 460
Kingston HyperX 8GB RAM
PSU is Chiefton (I think) 650W

Yes that parts are totally fine and will work. But I'd say save more money and buy a better graphics card. I mean what's the point in getting 4670k if you are buying gtx 460. So buy a gpu atleast like a gtx 660 or hd 7870. r9 270 is also good considered the price.

Yes it is all fine except for the PSU, you should get a good quality one as soon as possible, that one may damage your components

Try reading the post, he's updating the components one by one

Haha maybe it's written a bit confusing :/ but Yeah planning on getting a GTX 770 SC and if there is money for it a GTX 780 instead.
As for the PSU I'm looking at a Corsair 850W but is that going to be enough W? or will I need a bigger one?

You will be able to run 2 gtx 770s with that big psu pretty easily. But I'd say get a 600-750w psu but make sure it is bronze certified or more or known for it's quality. Even 750w psu is enough for Sli gtx 770.

Yes a 850W is a lot of juice, if you get a good quality PSU a 750W should be enough! Brands like Corsair, XFX, Antec, Seasonic are the ones you're looking for
