[SOLVED] Need some help PC won't boot...

Solution
I personally have never had a CPU die. I'm thinking the motherboard just needs to have the bios updated to be able to run the 8000+ series FX CPU's as you see in that first link. You might want to see if one of your friends has an older Althon2/Phenom2 so you can see if it will boot with one of those and then update the bios.
Don't forget to clear the cmos after the bios is updated to get it back to defaults.

Still this board was not designed to run this very hot processor, don't be surprised if you have to limit to to something like 4600 /4700Mhz.

Not having diagnostic LED's is why I didn't get that motherboard way back when I built my last AMD rig.

Anyways, that motherboard cannot run that CPU officially. You will definitely need to be on the latest bios version to have a chance. You will probably need a non-FX cpu to update the bios with.

And then there's the whole "is this used motherboard still good" issue.
I assume you had reset the bios to defaults before trying to boot by using the clear cmos jumper.

I bought this from a friend, and the cpu worked with this motherboard with no problems. But i can't get it to work. Is it possible the cpu is fried? If i unpower the cpu, the motherboard doesn't shut down.
