Need some help regarding building my PC

Okay, this is my first PC build.
First things first, I'm very paranoid about destroying my parts with static. I have read topics about a band, but I have decided not to use that. So, my house is tiled, and I plan on working with the PC on a wooden, lacquered surface. Would this be safe?

Another thing I'm afraid of is applying the thermal paste. I've read that applying a small dot is better than spreading it, but if let's say some bubbles appear, what happens next?

There's probably much more things I'm paranoid about but that's all that I can think of. Thanks for the help!

Also uh, does frying the component with static completely void the warranty, forcing me to re-buy the component?

Yes that would be safe. But if you do not use any anti static accessories. Then please do not forget to touch the metal case once every few minutes.

If bubbles appear and you are paranoid of not having it perfect. Cleaning with alcohol.

Well that's what warranty is for. If something goes wrong and you can't Reso,be it, return it to the manufacturer. But before you take my word, please check your manufacturer's warranty.
