Hello,

I was looking at a Phillips Monitor 40"https://www.amazon.com/Philips-BDM4065UC-Resolution-Speakers-DisplayPort/dp/B00SCX78JS

I spoke with Phillips today and this model along with the 43" model is discontinued.

I currently have a 27 as my main and a 23 as my extended. For ergonomic reasons, I need to change that. Looking to the other monitor is making me loose track of things.

I am looking to have the equivalent of 3-4 full screen windows open at once so I don't have to constantly look to the other monitor.

Graphics is a Nvidia 960

Do you have any ideas?

I cannot advice other than relate to test sites.
For ex. this on TechAdvisor:
Philips BDM4065UC review: This 40in Ultra-HD home cinema screen is a winner in almost every way

Otherwise I will suggest a 16:10 before an 16:9 or 21:9 monitor. It will give You a better vertical space and are much more suitable for "real work" on a pc such as photo editing, CAD/CAM, Office work and so fort. But it will all come down to Your personal preferences.
Unfortunately, most manufacturers today only produce 16:9 and wider type monitors mainly (as opposite to before), but it seems that this going to change.

More and more people req. a 16:10 monitor and here is one that the manufacturer listen to the forums world wide and have a nice monitor: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nec-pa302w-30-inch-desktop-monitor,review-33579.html

Bear in mind that playing games on a 16:10 monitor is absolute no problem. I myself are looking for a 16:10 fast IPS panel (low input lag) monitor 27" with good color and gamma, which is not on the market - yet.
Best regards from Sweden

Or you could use a quality 4k TV. I'm using one myself, and main drawbacks- I have to use remote to wake it up from inactivity, and it is not great for action games as it has higher than PC monitors input lag at about 100ms, reduced to ~70ms in gaming mode or increased if frame creation in switched on. However VA panel is nice for text and it has been good for my eyes.
