Hi! was wondering what to upgrade on my system, got some spare cash and I really want to spend it on my rig :)
here are my specs:
CPU: intel core i5-4670 @3.40GHz
GPU: geforce gtx 770 ( two way SLI)
RAM: 32GB of dominator 1833clockspeed ( I think, didnt bother to check)
MOBO: maximus VI hero
PSU: Corsair 860i
Tower: Nzxt 820 ( so allot of room!)
CPU cooler: corsair H110iGT:

I was thinking of buying a gtx 1080ti with the spare cash, but was wondering if my CPU will hold me down?(bottleneck) I was also maybe thinking of upgrading my CPU but then ill also switch the board because of the chipset.. and then Ill need new ram aswell since DDR4 hit the market.
any suggestions are welcome :)

At 4k the cpu is less of a bottleneck so if playing that res should the 4670 be fine. You're cpu should be able to run at 3.8ghz on all cores with the motherboard and cooling you have.
Looking what you have and wanting to upgrade cpu/motherboard etc. would i rather just pick a 4790k and call it a day.See if you can get a good used one for a decent price.
wait for the newer volta or amd gpu dropping latter this year. go with top of the line one gpu for speed. if you find your cpu is holding you back wait for the newer intel cpu. the newer high end and the replacment for the 1151 mb. that dropping latter this year. the 1151 and 2011 cpu slots are dead slots.

are the Volta dropping this year? and I would bet that the first Volta GPU's aint as powerful as the 1080ti, and I would also bet that the card to take the 1080ti out of the game would drop in the last quarter of 2017 or early 2018. I am not going with amd anymore, since I've had so damn many driver problems with them in the past . So I am sticking with green team atm :)

well the thing is, I am not sure if my CPU is holding me back, dosnt seem that way atm, but if I where to play a game running ultra on 4k I would asume that my CPU wouldnt keep up with a 1080ti
