Hello, I was wondering if someone would give me advice on my build idea from Cyberpower. I started off with the cheapest configuration setting at http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system [...] figurator/

Approximate Purchase Date: Possibly tonight...would like to since there is a sale.

Budget Range: 1500-1800

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (primarily ones with high CPU usage like Paradox titles + newer titles with other high requirements like The Witcher 2)

Parts Not Required: Keyboard and Mouse...(mouse is free with my build)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: CyberPower, Ibuypower

Overclocking: Yes, I'm just having them do it.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe. I really want advice on this. Debating 2 Radeon 7850s or one Nvidia 670

Build it yourself for cheaper. Good parts, bad idea unless you don't think you can yourself. It's not hard, it can be intimidating your first time but it's fun, good experience, and gives you a better since of pride in your machine.

I don't want to build it myself though--in theory I know it's cheaper, but I think I'd end up breaking the CPU/mobo when installing...which means it would end up being about the same price anyway after I rebuy those two. Plus I like the fact that I can just contact them for warranty replacement things.

Just my opinion. But if it was me i wouldn't go with that Water cool. Air will do just fine even if you OC to 4.3-4.5.. Im using a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
And it works perfect.. Only 35$..

Also the Hardrive cooler is kinda a waste. I dont think you will really be needing one.. With all that saved either bump up to a bigger SSD or get another 8 gigs ram.. Or just pocket the money saved..

What about this build...it's a tweek of my other one, but it has two GTX 570s instead of the one 670. Is it better for the price? Also, How are the coolent choice and PSU good choices? And what about the case? I've heard Xion aren't that good...but it is the cheapest option with liquid cooling...if there's one in the list that is better, I'd buy it...but I don't care about looks.

Real water cooling is high maintenance, if you're not the hands on type I would not recommend it. The coolant has to be changed often. Also if you're having them overclock it for you then you don't need such extreme cooling because they won't put much more than a 30% boost on it and an air cooler can handle that. The power supply? Not the best. I would just get 1 gtx670 with a Seasonic, PC power and cooling, or Antec power supply. You wont need much more than 500w with 1 gtx670. I'd rather you get the Corsair H60 if you want "water cooling" It's a closed loop system that requires zero maintenance.

I didn't know if you need monitors mouse keyboard anything like that.

The key things are:
Case: Corsair 300R
CPU: i5-3570k
Mobo: ASROCK Z77 Extreme4
Cooler: Corsair H60 dual fans
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 650w
GPU: GTX670 (This is what kills me, they're charging you almost $600 for a card that only costs $400, RIP OFF! Get no card and installed one yourself, its so simple!)
SSD: 60GB OCZ Agility 3 (The rest on their list suck compared to this one, and also it only costs $80, not $150 like they sell it for)

Oh yeah and if you must buy a GPU from them I picked the HD7970 because they sell it for $470 and it costs $500 and the GTX670 cost $400 and they sell it for $600. They will give you similar performance.

The only one I would consider is the Thermaltake TP-1000M ToughPower. I would go for two 7850s instead. They use less power and run cooler.

Alright so I followed your build to a T and now I just have to decide about the GPU issue. Pricing it out it wouldn't be much savings to get the two separately. I'm thinking doing the two 570s since it would actually be about the same price from newegg for them. If I did that, do I need to change the cooling or PSU options you suggested? CyberPower is saying the PSU would be an issue...but I realize they exaggerate that...so yeah. Thanks so much for all the help so far man.

Wait screw that, I looked at the average watt consumption and the 7850s would cost me a lot less in the electric bill per month. So yeah, would the build checkout ok with those?

2 7850s is going to be sweet. I would recommend a 650w PSU if you're going to run two of them. You could actually do it with only 500w since they only need 1 PCIe connector but go ahead and get a 650w. Get the Thermaltake ToughPower Grand 650w Gold, it's actually a pretty good PSU. Better than the other junk on there.

A 7850 has similar performance to a 570 and uses half the power. Plus it's newer technology.

Looks good, that's plenty of power. AMD recommends 500w for one card and 600w for two. They always recommend more than necessary to cover their behind. So 650 is more than enough.

Awesome then, thank you so much. I've been without a good PC for a year since my old Gateway FX laptop died (didn't ask for it...it was a grad present three years ago). It'll be nice to get back to gaming again.

Just be sure to get all branded components from CP.... nothing that says "standard" or "...or Major Brand".

I would also not get the internal reader. get an external one. it takes up a bay and they dont give you the bay cover.

I built a similar system for around the same price from them. I was happy with it though my HD7970 had to be RMA'd (on the bright side they RMA'd no questions asked) and my h60 corsair liquid cooling has the known grinding issue. This makes me almost recommend getting a different cooler just in case you get unlucky.

You can get 120gb SSD corsair/kingston for no increase in price versus the intel Smart Response Technology 60gb (i dont know if this technology does anything special) so thats something to keep in mind. If you install anyone than 2 games (steam game/bf3 for example) youre going to run out of space on the 60gb right away.

You might want the corsair 400r case vs the 300r case to give you a little extra room + the LED fans. has a different look if you prefer it also
