I need to get a really sweet looking front panel system-monitoring device that has USB & IEEE1394 ports on it, for my new monster workstation system. Hopefully something that will monitor lots of temperatures in the case, at least more than two, but it doesn't need to have any fan monitoring on it at all. A fan speed control is also unnecessary. I just want to be able to monitor temps in at least four locations, two in each of my RAID hot-swap bays that have potential airflow inadequacies that might manifest when the weather heats up. (have one 5xHDD-in-3-bays enclosure, and one 6-HDD-in-4-bays enclosure, both full of drives and therefore potentially hot.)
So... I'm thinking purple or blue backlit. Green is out, red would have to look really sweet to catch my interest. Gotta have USB and FireWire as nothing else on the front of the case does. Hopefully 4 to 8 temperature probes for monitoring, and like everything else on the front of the case, I want it to scare the living crap out of the kinds of people who would walk up to your monitor screen and point at something by tapping a ball-point pen on it. Anyone have something like that that they like, and wanna give me a brand or model to search for?
As always, many thanks to this forum for helping me make good buying decisions on stuff I've never seen before. Definitely a valuable resource.
