GNS3 Version: GNS3 v2.2.52
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
VMWare Workstation Pro 17
Oracle Virutal Box 7.1.4
CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Hello everyone, i m currently trying to setup GNS3 on my new PC for my CCNA studies but i ran into this problem. (I had no issues installing it on a Intel CPU system with Windows 8.)
I installed the GNS3VM in VMWare Workstation Pro (Yes the GNS3VM and the GNS3 Version are the same). After i try to setup everything in GNS3 and the VM starts opening in Workstation Pro i get the following Message:
Virtualized AMD-V/RVI is not supported on this platform.
Continue without virtualized AMD-V/RVI?
I suspected the BIOS option might be off, but all 3 SVM options are either enabled, or on AUTO.
After researching I came to the (hopefully right) conclusion it must be a Problem with Windows 11's VBS (Virtualization-based security) and/or Hyper-V.
After doing A LOT of tutorials (Reddit, google, ChatGPT, youtube) it is still enabled on my PC: (msinfo32 shows virtualization-based security "running" and "A hypervisor has been detected. Features required for Hyper-V will not be displayed")
I also tried setting it up with Virtual Box instead, running into a similar problem. The option Enable Nested VT - AMD-V is just greyed out and i can't set a checkmark.
It's really frustrating. I just want to keep studying, but I cant.
Does anyone here have ANY ideas how to possibly solve this issue? I would be eternally grateful.
PS: It seems to be a very common issue, but the solutions on the internet seem to work for most people, just not me.
