Hi All,

My Current Rig Config :

1) AMD FX8350 Black Edition
2) ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0
3) Corsair Vengeance 8GB Ram
4) Corsair H80i Liquid Cooler
5) Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Cabinet
6) Cooler Master VS550 SMPU
7) XFX 9600GTX GPU

As i have mentioned i am currently using the XFX 9600GTX but there is something wrong with it and now the temperature reaches 100'C when running benchmark test using Heaven. I wanted to get a decent GPU for my existing config. Please help me out i will be buying it immediately once i have decided based on your suggestions.

Thanks,
Manoj

Either the GTX750, R7 260X or GTX650 should do, all will play at medium to high settings with a single 1080 resolution monitor or you could spend a little more and look for the R7 265, GTX750Ti or GTX650Ti.
Here is how the cards compare: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32899-7.html
If possible look for the GTX750 or GTX750Ti rather than the GTX650/650Ti or AMD cards, the GTX750/750Ti are VERY energy efficient, quiet and (even in hot, scorching India 😉 ) should be cool running.

Concern has been raised about the power supply, no it is not a top quality unit but it does have good built in protection, the worst that could happen is that it just shuts off rather than damaging the rest of the computer if it...
Depending on the price range you are willing to spend :
AMD Radeon R9 290 for around $450-500 is the best rated higer-end GPU right now by TH.

For $200-250 and up, go with the Radeon R9 270X.

I do like nvidia, but right now the Price/Performance ratio greatly favors AMD.

Sorry for being a noob over here but i don't understand why the existing PSU does not support these GPU's though the requirement of some of the GPU's are 450-550 watts.

That one is bad quality; It uses capacitors that cause heat and longevity issues. Heavier loads (better GPUs) may cause it to fail.

i can talk to my computer guy and ask him to take this back and give me a better one i can spend another 50$ to top it out. The GPU i can put it in a Finance scheme from a online vendor so that would not be an issue.

Some of the cards are very high end for gaming. I am not looking a card for Gaming. I just need something that can play these games in moderate settings cause i have built this comp mainly for Music production.
