So i just went to a local store and found out that there are some components in my build not available or high priced and had to revisit my build

So here is my new build

Fx 6300 processor
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P OR Asus ASUS M5A97 R2.0
R9 270X
Carbide corsair 300R windowed
Kingston hyperX 2 x 4 GB
Cooler Master H212x cooler
Corsair VS550 550 Watt PSU

Here go the questions:
1)Which motherboard is good on the above mentioned GA vs ASUS? I am planning to overclock my fx 6300 (may be upto 4.5 Ghz?)
2)Corsair VS550 550 Watt PSU is enough for my GPU and processor and also considering the fact that i plan to overclock fx 6300 processor?
3)In this setup, till how much Ghz i can overclock with this MB and PSU?

Solution
Hey, I'm assuming you are from india because of the PSU since they are not sold in NA/EU, so most of the info/parts I talk about are from flipkart.com

Mobo

Your mobo is not so bad for the 6 core FX. I would recommend the M5A97 LE R2.0 as it has an 1 extra VRM and is cheaper than the Gigabyte.

The M5a97 R2.0 (not the LE version!) has heat sinks making it safer, but is 1300rs more....
1) Of the two, I like the features of the ASUS board better. Seems to me to offer more bang for the buck. I admit to a preference for ASUS boards, because i have built several computers around them and never had an issue. I find them very easy to set up. I've also found ASUS boards easy to overclock - especially models of the last few years. to be fair, I have not had any build experience with Gigabyte products.

2) ASUS has a PSU wattage calculator which is handy for determining how beefy your PSU must be. Don't know anything about the quality of Corsair PSU's, but I have no problem with other products they brand. I'd imagine Gigabyte has a Wattage calculator also.

3) This I have no idea on . . . I can just suggest you do some in depth research on your overall cooling solution, as it has a direct effect on how much you can overclock the rig, regardless of the motherboards capabilities.

Psu
The VS is pretty bad, a bit worse than the CX even. I would recommend the Antec VP650 or the CX600 over the VS PSU. But...then for 400rs more than them I would recommend the s12ii 520w as I know it would have 0 trouble handling an overclock because it is the best quality. http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-s12ii-520-watts-psu/p/itmd5xz5hzvzt9cx?pid=PSUD5XZ4KFH65H9E&srno=b_38&ref=bbf33970-6627-4646-8666-3664b1724724

Some information on the antec vp550/650 which would be similar to the cx500/600

Overclocking
To answer your question about overclocking, assuming you got the s12ii PSU, I would try with something like 4.0 first, then 4.1 and then 4.2. That seems to be the safe limit for it and some cpu can get to 4.5, but think of this as lucky.

Solution

Thank you for the reply. I guess i could go with ASUS mobo then.

Yes. I am from India and glad that you posted flipkart links for references.

How would you rate MSI 970A-G46 over M5a97 R2.0 LE? I think MSI one supports crossfire

http://www.flipkart.com/msi-970a-g46-motherboard/p/itmdekgruzp8w2ap?pid=MBDDEKGRUZP8W2AP&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=MSI-G46&ref=a257978c-afcd-43c5-8db2-73a561eca9fd

Does this seasonic 520 W handle crossfire of my GPU as well?

BTW, my GPU is R9 270 x and i see the link u posted is of 750ti

Crossfire minimum you would want 750w PSU. But since your cards aren't so strong, I think maybe a 650w would be ok.

Well about you asking about that link...Are you actually reading any of the links I give? 🙁 If you had opened it, you would see the 270x is listed with about 20 other cards.

I see. I think for now i would go with seasonic 520W and then in future may be will upgrade to higher ones. tight budget :)

Ah! i did not see after opening. i just seen the link title and did not go through fully. Sorry about that :)

hehe, no worries! :)

A single GPU is usually better with less complications and less heat and power. You could maybe do an r9 280x/290 later on this set up, but I would advice researching it before hand, especially since you are overclocking to.

Just so you know, when upgrading a GPU you want to buy 2 tiers up from where your current card is on the list.

By doing so, it makes it a good investment because you are getting much more performance than simply going up by 1 tier.

That was a very helpful link with awesome information. I will definitely go through this for my GPU upgrade:)

So here is my final build then

Fx 6300
Asus M5A97 R2.0(not LE version)
R9 270x
Kingston hyperx 8 GB(2 X 4GB)
Seasonic s12ii 520W

Sounds good?

I'm glad you had the budget to include a good mobo and PSU. Many new builders overlook how important they are and end up paying for it later from choosing cheap parts to save $10-$20...

As far as I know, that build will work well for you, enjoy it :)

That sounds great. Does a corsair carbide 300 R case would be a good choice for this build?

Today i got the quotation from a local store but they dont have seasonic PSU there. I guess i can order this from flipkart and give it to the local store for assembling the pc :)
