Need suggestions! build vs purchase. GAMING

I am going to be purchasing a new system within the next week, with the intent on being for gaming. Budget varies, but I was hoping for around under 1,300. I also am a student, which i would need a laptop for (which I currently have neither), so I was wanting to get your opinions on wether to build maybe a mini tax/itx building a computer and just playing a netbook or another laptop with the ability to run games on low. Or buying an msi apache or something of that sort. What do you guys suggest?

Mobile gaming is some-what important, though if I build a mini it wouldn't be a hassle.

Also, I'm looking to buy the gtx 770 4gig. Any suggestions on other hardware?

The case is not the final case, just asking about components. I literally just picked a case. I'll decide that later.

Only think I don't like about that build is the motherboard, you never want to cheap out on a motherboard, 16Gb is not nearly as necessary as a good motherboard. Try for 8gb of ram and get a gaming msi z97 or z87 mobo
