Hi. As the title suggests, I need help upgrading my current (and first ever) pc build. My computer is getting a tad old, and as my interest for more "demanding" videogames increases, I would like to be able to get a better experience from them. Some examples: Cyberpunk, RDR, Warzone. Rust.

Current build:
  • CPU: i3-8350k 4.00 GHz
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 ti
  • Motherboard: MSI Z370 Gaming Plus
  • RAM: Kingston Fury 2*8gb 2400 mhz
  • Cooler: Cooler Master Air Cooler
  • SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB / Crucial 275GB
  • Monitor: Acer 1080p 165hz
  • Power Supply: Seasonic 80+ Bronze 430w

Do you have a budget?
If you want stronger graphics for fast action games, you will need to buy a stronger psu. Something in the 750/850w range.
An overly strong psu will not use any more power but provides a path to an even stronger graphics upgrade.
It will not be cheap if you want a quality unit with a 7 year warranty.
Look at seasonic focus or Corsair rm.

As to individual graphics capabilities, Look at tom's gpu hierarchy chart:

I might suggest something in the rtx3060 class.
Any less and you may be disappointed if you do not see magical results.
AMD makes comparable price/performance cards also, but there is a learning curve when changing.
Here is a handy chart telling recommended power for various cards:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm

On the cpu, you could probably buy a I7 8700K or 9700k and gain 4 processing threads and a bit more single thread capability.
That might cost $200 used on ebay.
But $240 will buy you a I5-13400 processor with 16 threads and a single core performance of perhaps double what you have.
A B660 or B760 motherboard might be $150, and you can reuse your DDR4 ram.
Again, you are familiar with Intel and I would keep that.
AMD offers similar value, but there are quirks that will probably require different ram.

What is the make/model of your case?
You can probably keep it if you like it.
Nothing wrong with your ssd's or monitor.

Thanks for the detailed answer!

Budget would be around ~1000€.

From what i've been seeing on here and on reddit, everyone pretty much recommends going with a rtx3060, so I figured I should "upgrade" my pc around it.

Case model: ATX Nox Hummer MC PRO

If you wish to save a little money check this card out. Should be about the same performance wise as the 3060.

If you wanted a little more performance and have a few extra bucks, take a look at this card. It’s between 3060ti and 3070 performance levels. So a bit more performance for not a lot more money.

Can’t argue with the rest of that build.
