I Need to change my case on a budget as i have bought a new Cooler Master Hyper 212X cpu fan and it won't fit into my case Aerocool VS9 (or will be very very tight) I do have the option of trying to mod another Large case i have it's an MSI but cannot find any details on the case at all I tried to contact MSI but i was firmly told to clear off because it's old and they can't sell me anything.. How can i tell if it is an ATX case? I have a picture but cannot work out how to post it.......

Thanks for that but i took off my standard cooler fan and sat the new one on and it was hitting the side rail of the case with the brass studs on top of the 212x.... mine is same as that on the site maybe i will need to strip it down fit it properly and see how it goes. trouble is i need my PC so if it doesn't work i will have to do it all again.. thanks again for the reply

this is another problem i seem to have clearance for the new carrier on the back with new nuts i am pretty sure they are going to be resting on the case......
imeasured the nuts and they are pretty much 5mm I don't have 5mm clearance to my case..
Oh and mine is the same as the one on site.. sorry about that

yep i will but i don't have 5mm between my motherboard and the back of the case to get the nuts in there without it touching the case when i put board back in..
Maybe i should take saw to it and open it more so i can get at it in future.... :)

Well after all that and a good most of the day i transferred everything into new old case i have which it turns out is a Chieftec Dragon DX-01B-D large Midi tower much more room in side compared to my old one did a couple of mod's inducing adding a Powercool Glaciar Pro Series 12cm silent fan in the case side door.. So all this and it turns out to be a waste of time really as the Cooler Master Hyper 212X won't fit my Dell Studio XPS 435MT mother board. well pi**ed.
it is Dell special so you cant fit the mounts etc.....Bit annoyed at Dell. putting it mildly..
So I think after all this i am going to swap out my motherboard for an equivalent where i can use all my existing Memory, graphics card etc. with upgrades possibly at least i have much better airflow now just waiting for a couple of Nexus 80MM silent fans to finish it all.... I don't suppose someone could give me a hand and advice as to what motherboard i should be looking for please.. Thanks as i said i am not too bright at this sort of thing but plod on.. what type of board do i need to look for?? hopefull a second hand one.. thanks again
