Need to complete this build

I have purchased:

Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 88W BX80646I54690K Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600

ASUS Z87-A (NFC EXPRESS EDITION) LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Klevv Fit 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KM3F4GX2C-1600-09-09-09-24-0

Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl w/ USB 3.0 ATX Mid Tower Silent PC Computer Case

I need to complete this build. I will need some sort of drive, which does not need to be too large, my 7 year old iMac has 1TB and I have 400GB on the drive. I was thinking maybe a 240GN SSB and 500GB HDD combo or maybe a 500 SSD. Concerned about driving the read write rates if I only have an SSD.

Graphics card does not have to be HUGE. I was thinking 750 ti.

Need a good PSU, was thinking SeaSonic 520W. I would really like a modular PSU if possible.

I will need a monitor, which I would like to get the highest quality possible for as cheap as possible (of course). Possibly $150 max for the monitor. Any monitor I get will be a downgrade from my iMac 27", but I am unwilling to pay what it would cost for something as good. I doubt I would be satisfies with anything smaller than 23".

I do want to be able to game, but I am not a bleeding edge gamer. I play strategy and turn-based games mostly with XCOM 2 being my most intensive requirements at 1GB dedicated video needed.

I would have never gotten this high of a quality of a processor but got a good deal on it with the MB and memory for $280. My needs really do not include a 4690k, but when I can get it as cheap as I got it, I thought it would be a good deal. Got the R4 for $70, was going to skimp a little more there, but I thought that price point was great.

So I enter the reminder of my buy with the same mind set. Get the components as cheaply as I can, but I do not want trash, if that makes sense.

I live in the US and I would like the rest of the build to be less than $400 or so. Less if possible, more if necessary.

Thank you all for your advice and expertise.

Bill

Not necessarily skeptical, just wanted to clarify. I did edit my post with a suggested "end state" build.

The reality is probably more like:
250GB (ish) SSD in the 70-90 range (for good quality, not just "any old SSD"
PSU around 60-70 is fair, and you can get some quality, quality units in that price point.
GPU 100-130 (GTX 950 at the 130 mark)
Monitor anywhere from 150-200 for a decent quality...
So, you want a minimum 23" monitor, a GPU, a PSU, an SSD (and probably an OS?) for $400?

Might be slightly on the low side from a budget standpoint:

The GTX 950 is probably a better call on the GPU from a longevity standpoint - but another $30

You could go with another brand for your SSD, but Samsung has the best performers and you wouldn't really save much at all by going with another brand

For the price of the PSU you proposed, you can have that EVGA SuperNOVA B2 750W. More than overkill for this setup, but the price is right in line with the SeaSonic. It's also a quality unit, and would allow you to upgrade almost anything in future on that PSU.

Hope I am not being too unreasonable. As you see My needs are not terribly great, small ssd, small GPU requirements and some flexibility in pricing...

My initial thoughts were 240GB SSD (60-70) 520w PSU (60-70) 750ti (100-120) leaving about 140 - 200 for the monitor.

You sound a bit skeptical though, have I just lost my mind?

Thanks for the part lists... I appreciate the thoughts on the suggestions... I do have some flexibility in price so your thoughts are especially welcome.

Will look it over after lunch ore indepth... someone suggested at least a 960 GPU, for DX12 support, but the cost is rather... harsh... Thougths?

I very much like the ssd. A 500gb Samsung evo 500gb will cost $180. Yhat is all you will need for a long time.
Do not worry about longevity. It will take 10 years of heavy activity to wear it out. By then, it will be long obsolete.
And... larger ssd drives have better endurance, they have more nand blocks.

I like the GTX750ti But, why not use the integrated graphics initially?
You can then get a better idea of what discrete graphics you need.

Seasonic is excellent 520w will run a card as good as a GTX980.
Modular is a non issue to me. You are going to use most of the leads and the remainder are easy to tuck away out of the airstream.
Gold rating is not worth it from a cost savings point of view either.

On the monitor, look for one with a IPS panel. It will have a better image suitable for your games.
You might even find one close to your price in 27"
I urge you to bust your budget and buy a good monitor, you will be looking at it for a long time. $200 should do it.
Here is one example:

The unknown quantity of whether you need an operating system - I assume you do, so another $90 or so.

That puts you at a budget more likely to be almost $600 at the upper end (although some consessions can be made of course).

Ok ... UPDATE:

Purchased : SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB
Purchased : Seasonic S12 II Bronze 620W 80Plus

May just go with on chip graphics for now. And I might even use the TV for video until I get a good deal on a monitor

UPDATE 2.0 "_"

Is what I have purchased now. I have not gotten a Monitor nor a GPU as I can put this together without them for now. Looking at PowerColor Radeon R7 360 for my GPU, but not certain... no hurry, I am just worried about how useful this will be longer term, 1 year ... 2 years? ... It does support DX12 which is nice.
