need to demote PDC to member server

I know that I have to reinstall the server software, my
question is, can that be done without losing all the
data? I have the OS on a FAT partition and the data is on
an NTFS partition. Will it reinstall over itself or do I
have to totally start over and repartition the drive?

Ed, backup your data first anyway, but reinstalling over the OS should
not touch your data partition.
