Hey guys,

my 5900x finally arrived and I want to remove my 3900x. It has a Noctua nh-d15 on it.
What steps I need to take before attempting to remove the cooler? I dont want to accidently yank the cooler with my cpu out of the socket probably killing my very expansive mobo 😅
I heard doing a CPU stress test is good so it gets a bit worm

I've never done this....and never had a need to.

Basically the steps to remove the cooler are the reverse of installing it.

The main thing I would advise is....go slow.....and be neat....and don't do anything...if you don't know what you are doing.

Get the instruction manual out for the cooler and follow it for the disassembly.

....and be careful with the paste! don't get it on things!

If you follow the correct procedure....it should go easy.
