Hi,
After my graphics card broke, I tried to use my CPU's integrated graphics instead of using "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" which was the default after disabling the card. It didn't show up anywhere in my PC, so I ended up going into BIOS ---> North Bridge Configuration ---> And toggled "Ignore external gfx card" to Enabled. As a result, the display shows nothing but black screen.
I understand that in order to reset the BIOS back to default, it is necessary to remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard and put it back again. Since my PC is an all-in-one, it was hard enough to remove the glass cover and screen, but once I did, I encountered a major issue.
As you can see, it appears that the CMOS battery is not actually slotted into the motherboard, but rather just hanging off a pair of wires that is attached to the motherboard and wrapped in tape!. The two wires go into a white unit on the motherboard that does not budge. I see no way to disconnect and reconnect this CMOS battery.
I am currently entering exam season, and I am desperate for assistance to at least regain functionality of my computer, even if it is "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter".
Firstly, is there any way that I can reset the CMOS battery with it being in this state? Doing such would allow me to use basic features on my PC that don't require a GPU.
A more preferable (but probably more unlikely) solution is that I somehow enable my CPU integrated graphics, since disabling the graphics card in the BIOS has not enabled it. My i5-4460 supports Intel HD Graphics 4600, however does it require my monitor to be plugged into a certain location on the motherboard?
The first picture underneath is of the motherboard, in the top right hand side of the screen, the multitude of blue and white cables is what connects my monitor to the motherboard. The second picture is of the section to the right of the first picture, right of the fan, in the bottom right hand corner of the screen there is a white section connected to the motherboard, with two wires red and black coming out. These wires also lead to a different section of the screen (I have no idea why).
Thanks for any assistance!
Regards,
Sam
