The best card for 1440p gaming is the GTX 1070 which thanks to the mining craze is going for at least 550$ canadian. The other options would be the GTX 1060 and the RX 580. The 580 however is extremely overpriced and not worth the extra premium over the GTX 1060. The cheapest 6gb 1060 is going for around 350$ canadian which is still overpriced but decent enough. The 1060 would be able to run most games on high at 1440p but even now there are some games where you will have to drop down some setting to medium. I would recommend paying an additional 50$ to get the 1070 if possible, since it is a huge improvement over the 1060.

And the 1070 would fit physically? Sorry I know close to nothing for parts :/ Also what is the difference between manufactures? Like MSI GeForce GTX 1070 or an Nvidia or EVGA?
