Ram in mixed kits runs at the slowest compatible speeds, with the highest compatible timings and highest necessary voltage.
So, if you buy a 8Gb 3200MHz stick of ram, and pair it with the 4Gb 2133MHz, you will get both sticks at 2133MHz, with both sticks working at the worst timings and 1.35v. The 4Gb and first 4Gb of the 8Gb stick will be in dual channel, but the remaining 4Gb of the 8Gb stick will be in single channel.
That's basically like tieing your feet together and trying to run. At best, you'd be looking at a crawl.
Would be better performance and faster to not add the old 4Gb, just use the new 8gb as is. It would be single channel, but at 3200MHz speed, not 2133MHz speed.
