Need windows 10 help

To keep this simple, I currently have Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. I want to change to Windows 10 Home 64 Bit because I did not know what Pro did. I thought my old Windows 7 had Pro so I just went with it. Its not activated and hoping to buy a Windows 10 Home activation key.

O, you mean you didn't have a windows 10 pro license.
There is no change, need to do a fresh install.

I've tried that. When I try to download it, it just saids download windows 10 pro.

you already have windows 10 pro. so no upgrade.

You can't 'upgrade' from Pro back to Home.

You'll have to start with a whole full reinstall of Home.

In addition, what were you planning on doing about the actual licensing, Home or Pro?

The Pro version just has some things in it that help it work in a corporate environment where you have a server that is controlling everyting. There isn't much difference, not like in the old days when a home edition and a pro edition had major differences. The lines have blurred with the difference today, just get whichever is less expensive for you.

I think I see your problem. You took a copy home from work to install, but the licensing is saved on the company server to activate.

You probably should do a fresh install and get a home key if you ask me.

Create a new USB or DVD install from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Boot from that, and proceed.
