It has a been a while since i had done my loop with the parts I currently in my system. It then donned on me that I should think about upgrading it to get the best I can out of it. Before I tell you what my loops has , I'll let you know what pc parts are.

Intel Core i5-4690K OCed to 4.5 Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK G.Skill Trident X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ Corsair HX750 3 HDDs and two SSDs, one ssd for boot and the other for steam games Fractal Design Venturi fans, all of them High Pressure PWM. The 240 rad have two 120mm fans and the 140 rad has the 140mm fan both in the front And the case thats holding it all in is the Fractal Design Define R5
Now for the current water cooling parts.

Alphacool NexXxoS Cool Answer 240 D5/ST - Set This set includes a clear dual bay res with D5 pump, NexXxoS ST30 240mm thick rad, NexXxoS XP³ Light cpu block
The other stuff I added was Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 140mm rad, EK gpu water block for my 980 Ti, and lots of fittings, even a drain port.

Now here where things are where I wanna upgrade. I have two options for my loop, Hardware Labs 360 slim and 280 slim rads, Tube res or use a better bay res and cpu block, this one I might go with the Heatkiller VI pro. Or find a way to use my current set up, though would like to upgrade.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Hardwarelabs GTR 280 push-pull opti-flowed with four 140mm fans, any ~ $20 around 1000 to 1200 RPM fans should be audible, it has manual on how to set opti-flow fan. HWL call it stealth mode, but it's pricey.

There're no such thing as quiet case, the sound pressure can be reduce by good mounting (vibration free), sound dampening foam, and case design, so your fan choice will be the next step to attain whispered ambient.
Are you doing serial pump single loop or separate loop for CPU & GPU?
Is it for cooling only or add some aesthetic with rigid tube + colored coolant + ?

Peak TDP

  • ■ 150 watt CPU, start from ~ 95 watt OCd
    ■ 280 watt GPU start from ~ 250 watt
You can keep that in a single loop with one D5 pump and 360 rad (good review such as HWL GTR, EKWB Coolstream XE or Koolance HX) + six fans in push-pull, the slim rad such as < 40mm thick usually won't be able to dissipate ~ 450 watt, so if you already paid Nexxxos ST30 (~30mm thick) which roughly has 250 to 300 watt heat dissipation capacity then add a 280mm or 360mm.

See if you can hardmod Define R5 window to become tempered glass, acrylic gets murky and loosing its clarity over time. We'd like to see your finished loop here too .

Its more for cooling and both CPU and GPU are OCed and its in serial with no rigid tubing and no colored coolent. My case is mainly to stay quiet since I like the Define series for being quiet, so no side window. Also I was thinking of keeping my 240 and adding in the 280 in the front, mainly to make the use of my cases front fans. My front will be using both 140mm fans so why not the 280mm rad? Also should I go with getting another 280mm on top? This is cause I wanna keep my bay res since it seems convenient for me at the moment to have that there.
