Hes pointing out that author of that article didnt have a clue until the second paragraph. Its a TLB Bug, not TLB. Every damn processor has TLB. The author was saying "the proc has TLB" which isnt news in the slighest. He should have been saying "the proc has TLBB, translation lookaside buffer bug".

LMFAO!!!!

Thats classic. No chip is 100% bug free. All chips have some level of erratum, most 99% of which never affects the end user or performance.

You need to read a bit more. According to Intel this was a bug from Core 2 that was not actually present in Core i7 and was fixed back with Core 2 with no performance hit.

this thread went down the drain quickly :na:

back on topic... Doesn't really matter if its common or not, the issue is if the fix for it will hinder performance at all

The funny thing is Intel's largely denying it's Nehalem related and isn't taking AMD's position when the B2 errata surfaced. Just proves to me that the B2 errata issue was all blown out of proportion. B2's real problems were performance related. Better than Athlon X2 core vs. core, but not better than Core 2.

Nehalem performance in anything but games looks so good that a bios fix that slows things down may not matter much. Still, it's another reason for Intel fans to stick with Core 2 until newer revisions.
