I really need help,

ok so i had .net framework 4.5 installed on my windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and for some reason i installed/downloaded version 4.0.....

ever since, catalyst control center and some other games cannot start and respond saying:

"To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:
v4.0.30319
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework."

when i open catalyst it says the same thing but the version it says is v4.0

I need Help please anyone!

hmmm.. don't know ? sounds like something's corrupt [???] cause it telling you its there and up tom date but yet you cant do anything with it ..

did you run this ?? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

if this don't fond something I guess try the restore point . just pick a restore date behind this issue date. and let it do its thing and see if it gets you back to normal..

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/system-restore

lastly run your os disk and use its repair tool on it

in the end you may have to reinstall windows .. I/m out of ideas on this unless someone else chimes in that got something better form you to try..
wow dude out of the fry pan into the fire -- looks like something is just defective something bad wrong with the board or chipset something seems your getting too many issues with this it may be your hard drive screwing the data up it reads and writes something to me it way too many issues back to back to back or your copy of windows is damaged

Ok so i know that this is ancient and i havnt responded but i have identified the problem and how to fix it.

Amd catalyst overdrive... anything that has to do with amd's old overdrive or the overclocking features found within catalyst control center is the problem i have long since switched over to nvidia and intel but during the time i had the am equipment installed...

the only solution that i could even test was changing the mother board with ended up working beautifully! i dont know if amd catalyst is still having that problem but if it is then whoever is having this problem, its mostly cuz of it...

now im not saying that the only solution is to switch motherboard but maybe turning off overdrive and turning off overclocking stuff through ctc
might help

^that was the only way i was able to get things working so if anybody has this problem right there was my solution

if you use the overdrive and and your card cant take any setting change it may cause it to crash some cards oc well some may not at all
I use amd cards and so far have not had any issues with the ccc

but you changed the board out and all is fine now ?? like maybe it had a chipset failure and all things run through it and could cause hard drive corruption
or read write errors ?

then if it was a amd board all the vid card pic lanes run through the chipset

at least you got ting going now ..

good luck
